What the heck is Agritech

Technology in agriculture is its own sector now. Ag technology, or agtech for short is the application of technology to improve agriculture.  Agriculture technology has the stated purpose of attempting to augment productivity and profitability for farmers.

How inspiring is that? I am glad to see it.

Agtech references the application of technology to the ag sector, notably software applications and hardware. Agtechnology encompasses a diverse set of tech for essentially every stage of the food growing cycle. From specialized smartphone apps to AI, agtech is at the forefront of agricultural innovation.

Some Growers have been sluggish to adopt agricultural innovations over the past decade, due to agricultural traditions and qualms regarding spending resources on unproven tech.
Mostly,  agricultural  technology has steadily benefited agriculture and profit margins over the decades, enabling growers to produce more with lower costs.
